Studies show that up to 80% of all visits to the family physician are for stress-related complaints. Research also demonstrates that adverse childhood events (ACE), stress, and trauma are predictors of unhealthy lifestyle choices which lead to chronic disease throughout the life span. Mind-body therapies like guided imagery, mindfulness, and somatic psychotherapies engage patients to process stress and trauma, and to heal on both a physical and emotional level.
